Are you a Communicative Disorder Assistant seeking a

As a Communicative Disorder Assistant (Temporary, Full-Time, start
date: Immediately to May 28, 2027; Location: Sudbury), you provide therapy
assistance and administrative support to the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
Whether you work in our office, in the
community, or a health care facility – you will play a lead role in providing
connected, accessible, patient-centered care – and be supported by our
collaborative team that includes over 9,000 regulated health care and other
professionals.

What will you do?

Implement treat
plan/intervention with patients, under the direction of the SLP.
·
Assist SLP with patients’
assessment and treatment programs.
·
Deliver therapy materials and
equipment to patients and train them on proper usage.
·
Complete and maintain
documentation and records regarding patient's intervention.
·
Collaborate closely with the SLP
to discuss patient progress, readiness for discharge, and required follow-up.
·
Research assessment, diagnosis,
and intervention tools, aids, or materials to assist the SLP in delivering
patient services.
·
Create and prepare communication
materials, supplies, and activities for
client intervention, as requested
by the SLP.
·
Maintain therapy materials,
supplies, and equipment and ensure that they are stored properly and are
readily accessible.
What must you
have?
- Relevant experience assisting SLPs in a
community/health care environment;
- Good knowledge of the speech-language
pathology profession and applicable CASLPO guidelines;
- Clear understanding of the scope and
limitations of the Communicative Disorders Assistant’s role and their
relationship with the SLP;
- General understanding of the roles of
health care professionals and other patient services staff;
- Excellent knowledge of materials,
supplies, equipment, and intervention processes used in the provision of
SLP services;
- Firm understanding of physiological and
functional speech/language disorders and associated clinical terminology;
- Ability to work collaboratively with SLPs
and accept work direction when assisting with patient interventions;
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with
diverse patient groups with varying levels of comprehension and language
capability;
- Good interpersonal skills are required
when interacting with staff, external vendors, or outside organizations;
- Ability to deal with demanding
interpersonal situations and respond with good judgment and understanding;
- Ability to handle sensitive and
confidential information in a discreet and professional manner;
- Working knowledge of computer software
(Boardmaker, email, internet,) and Microsoft Office applications (Word,
Excel);
- Ability to organize and maintain filing
systems;
- Ability to operate copy machines, fax
machines, and other office equipment;
- Must have
valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle;

Oral and written proficiency in English is essential.

Case
management experience or recent related community experience
·
Ability
to speak French or another second language
Salary: Hourly wage of $29.38 to $33.29
